• Zumba – Ditch Your Workout, Join the Party


    Over the past few years you probably have heard of this fitness craze called ZUMBA. A craze because we come across Zumba Classes of all kinds, Zumba Parties, Zumba Bashes and, well let’s face it, if you are like many you are wondering, “What the heck is it and why is everyone flocking to it”? You see your neighbors and friends who have never even thought about exercising getting out and making time for Zumba classes. There are classes that attract every age, every gender and every fitness level.

    Do you want to know why? BECAUSE IT’S A LOT OF FUN!

    There’s nothing like working up a sweat and having fun with this high-impact dance based workout. That’s right, get yourself into one of these classes and the music starts to crank, your body starts to move and soon you are working your core, thighs and butt without even knowing it.


    What can you expect? A Latin dance inspired exercise class.  Zumba was created so that anyone and everyone could participate, and classes are notoriously welcoming to newcomers.  Whether you can bust a move like J.Lo or were born with two-left feet, it’s a neutral playing field when you come to Zumba.  As long as you are moving, you’re doing it right.  The instructor will show you the moves and modifications and then you just the the music sink into your bones and let your inner Diva take over.  It’s that easy.  No intimidation required – leave it at the door.

    DFF offers Zumba Classes on Wednesday nights at 6:30 with Sara as well as Saturday mornings at 9:30 with Debbie. Both instructors are full of energy and will lead you through a fun workout. If you are new to Zumba, remember that it is a high intensity workout so you may want to ease into it slowly. But we think that’s hard to do once you feel the music. Feel confident in knowing that our instructors are skilled at teaching members at any level and age which allows you to feel comfortable before you start kicking it up a notch.
